The Ultimate Objective
Alder and Alder first approached GleaveMedia because they wanted to increase their brand awareness and online presence in the build-up to Christmas 2012.
The Idea
The concept itself was quite simple but highly effective.
Every working day in December a section of a well-known logo, was posted online by Alder and Alder. People could then send Alder and Alder their guesses as to which company, product or organisations the segment of the logo belonged to. As an incentive to participate, every day a small, edible prize was issued to one correct entrant and at the end of the quiz, just before Christmas, 3 lucky correct entries won a grand prize.
What GleaveMedia Did
To drive traffic to Alder and Alder’s website and in turn, collect data that could be used for future marketing purposes, a sign-up form was created and integrated on a web page, built specifically for the purpose of this Advent Quiz.
To really engage people with this innovative scheme, instead of lengthy texts explaining how the quiz works, a video was created, and featured on Alder and Alder’s ‘Advent Quiz’ webpage (see the link below). This video served to give the same textual information but an in an innovative more online-friendly format.
This initiative was supported with a social media campaign whereby daily updates and different logo segments were posted on Facebook.
The Result:
The social media campaign resulted in an unprecedented response. Alder and Alder saw a huge increase in online activity and traffic to their website, and received over 800 new likes to their facebook page.
